American Idol

So we have been following Idol all season long and it came down to the two Davids last night. David Cook on the right won but we barely found out... the show ran long and Tivo was ready to record another show so we heard... "the winner is David Co...." and then it stopped. We would have been happy with either David winning so it all worked out. One thing I wanted to note for everyone who watched it was.... who the heck wants to hear all the people voted off sing? As far as I am concerned they were voted off for a reason... I did not want to watch a two hour show with some "has beens" especially that "rocker" girl with the creepy voice. It was a dang good thing I had a fast forward button!

Wii are in love!

We finally broke down and bought a Wii. Let me tell you.... we love it! We have been staying up late and playing Mario Kart until we are so tired that it gets frustrating. We have been bowling like crazy... and getting tennis elbow. We have 4 controllers and 4 nun chucks and 3 steering wheels so if anyone wants to come over and play please do! I also think it is especially funny to have the wii characters look like people I know so if you want yourself immortalized in my wii please let me know and I will create a character to look like you! Also if you have any wii game suggestions... please don't hold back!

DuckTales

There are a few ponds around where I work. I had to stop for a trail of little ducks on my way into work this morning. Some of the adult ducks have been killed crossing the little road that runs between the ponds so I stopped to let them pass. These little guys remind of this duck that we hatched in preschool. Yes I remember preschool... in great detail. So anyway, I remember the egg in the incubator, the smell, and the little room they kept it in. I am not sure why they had a duck egg but we kept it until it hatched and was old enough to be on its own. The preschool was near a lake in Irvine and once the duck was ready we all took a walk down to the lake and dropped it off with another duck family. I remember thinking that was the coolest thing to watch a duck hatch and grow up. I hope these work ducks can avoid the cars and have more little ducks in the future.

A key to a successful marriage!

Andrea and I have a love for Catch Phrase. The two of us can't wait for others to come over and play it so we sometimes play it in bed before we fall asleep. Here are a couple of variations we made.

1) We each take a round trying to describe all the phrases. I especially like to use the word "blank" for example: "Blank blank blank" if its a 3 word phrase. It's great fun because you have to guess based upon tone and facial expression. It's not super easy but its always a good laugh.

2) Signs. Andrea may know some ASL but thats not what I am talking about here... we make up hands signs to describe the word or phrase... holy crap its funny.

I really think that playing catch phrase has helped our marriage to be fun... I think everyone should go and buy this game!!!

Funny Lil' Card

So I sent someone on a quick errand to pick up some lunch for a lunch/sales training meeting. She called in the order and when she went to go pick it up they did not have her order. She explained that she looked up the number online and called it in. They made the comment that the number must be switched their other location. They pulled out a card next to the register and wrote a phone number down. They had her call them and let them know what happened and to tell them that they will just go ahead and fulfill the order. She didnt even look at the card and shoved it in her pocket with my card and receipt. She handed it all to me to expense and this is what I found....

What in the world is a pizza place doing handing out cards like this? I had to google the phone number and it belonged to an ad agency... hilarious!

4 Years Tonight!

Andrea and I had our first date 4 years ago tonight at Buca di Beppos in Salt Lake City. It is also my 5 year mark from being home from my mission. Needless to say the first date went really well! The food was less than memorable... it fact we haven't been back but we will never forget it. I do remember the waiter asked us if we were going to order vegetables with our meal... my response was "um... ok Mom!" After dinner we went to see an IMAX movie and the only one starting was Nascar (that we both think is pretty trashy). No kiss on the first day but I did growl when I hugged her good night. Love you Andrea!

Church Celebrity Encounter

Andrea and I had to run a few errands before our Mother' Day weekend. We needed to make a trip to our local Super Target in Orem. We decided to stop in at Wendy's for dinner... typically we don't go in to eat but tonight we decided that it made sense. When I was waiting at the counter for our food I looked around the restaurant which was basically empty. There was an older couple sitting at the table near the ketchup that caught my eye. I looked at him and thought... that totally looks like Elder Perry... I dismissed the thought because of the location and the fact that he was dressed casual (I thought they couldnt dress casual in public). We passed by I decided that it really was him and his wife! Andrea had no idea... when I told her she was like.... no way!... She looked and discovered for herself. I wanted to go up to him and meet him but I didnt think I would really have anything to say to him. I sat there thinking... I need to go up to him... I shouldnt be such a chicken and besides I just took a living prophets class at BYU so I knew a lot about him. So I got up and went over to talk to him. This is how the conversation went.

Me: "Excuse me.. are you Elder Perry?"
Elder Perry: "That's what they usually call me!"
(Awkward pause)
Elder Perry: "Who are you?"
(Long pause)
Me: "Brad Frandsen... I thought it was you... I just needed to come find out... its nice to meet you... sorry to interrupt (frosty eating). Have a good night!"
(Me wondering why I was so awkward as I walked back to my booth)

Anyway thats the story from my point of view... who would have thought!

In-n-out UTAH!

Can you believe In-n-out has ventured into Utah... only four hours away... I seriously can't wait for the real In-n-out to come to Northern Utah. I can't wait to make a trip to St. George for this...
This will be my order... Double double animal style with fries and pink lemonade... ah........... and hold the pickles please!

Katie B

This is my newest little cousin Katie. This was the first time I've seen her. She just turned 3 months old while she was here... cutest kid.

New Frandsen Family

This is my cousin Spencer and his new wife Terri outside the Salt Lake temple on Thursday.

The Aunts

My aunts came into town this weekend for my cousin Spencer's wedding. My Aunts are so much fun to be around each of them is different in their own way. I got to hang out with them while they were down and my cheeks were hurting from laughing with them. I wish we all lived closer... maybe I could laugh off my extra chin!

Ode' to Ali

This is my cousin Ali she is 17 and she has always been so much fun. Ali is the same today as she was 10 years ago... she is always excited to see me and is never "too cool" for anyone. Here are some pictures we took of her this week when we went to her brother's wedding.

Ali was sitting next to her older sister's boyfriend on the couch when he fell asleep. Ali just decided it would be fun to play with his hair.

Here is a close up of what she was doing. I bet he just thought his girlfriend was playing with his hair.

Proof that he was asleep and not aware that Ali was doing this.

Ok sorry this is blurry but I had to show you his reaction and look at that face she made when he woke up... got to love it!

New Pictures

Andrea and I went on a drive last Sunday and ended up taking some pictures. Obviously I didnt take the one of myself. (I am in it)

Isn't she beautiful!

(I am totally thinking... if one more car drives by and waves I am out of here.)
